Ariel Rivera is a Puerto Rican painter & writer based in San Francisco.

Primarily self-taught, she has deepened her practice through studies at The Contemporary Austin, Crealde School of Art, and Jean Henry School of Art. She is currently a studio artist and painting instructor at Root Division.

For Ariel, painting is a way of listening to the self, the creative forces at play, and the quiet synchronicities that shape our world. Blending organic elements with intuitive abstraction, her work reveals the subconscious truths and hidden rhythms that connect us all.

Her creative energy extends into her work as a writer, her knack for crafting a perfect matcha latte, and her love of storytelling in all its forms. She’s often accompanied by her beagle, Lemon.
